6 bacon slices
1/3 cup honey
2 teaspoons dried onion flakes
1/4 cup regular mustard
Lowry’s Seasoning Salt
2 tbsp Mayonnaise
1 cup sliced fresh mushroom (omit if you’d like)
2 cups shredded Colby/Jack cheese
TO MAKE OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE ALICE SPRINGS CHICKEN
Step 1: Over the whole chicken, rub the seasoning salt. Cover the chicken and keep it in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
Step 2: In a large skillet, cook the bacon until crisp. When done, keep the cooked bacon aside, but not discard the grease.
Step 3: Saute the chicken in the bacon grease for approximately 3 to 5 minutes per side or until browned. Then, shift the chicken to a 9 x 13-inch casserole dish or pan.
Step 4: In a small bowl, whisk the mustard, honey, mayonnaise, and dried onion flakes until well blended. Pour this over the chicken, spreading the honey mustard on the chicken pieces. Top with layers of mushrooms crumbled bacon, then shredded cheese.
Step 5: Bake in a preheated 350 degrees oven for about 30 minutes or until the cheese has melted and the chicken is completely cooked. Serve the chicken with the rest of the Honey Mustard sauce immediately when done. Enjoy!
