CRUST:
1 egg
1 box yellow cake mix, dry- not prepared
8 tbsp butter, melted
GOOEY LAYER:
2 eggs, beaten
16 ounces powdered sugar
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
How to make Ooey Gooey Bars
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F.
Step 2: Place the cake mix, melted butter, and egg in a medium bowl. Mix well until blended and smooth.
Step 3: On the bottom of a greased baking pan, pat and evenly press the dough. Set aside.
Step 4: Beat the cream cheese in another large bowl. Then, add the eggs and continue beating for about 1 to 2 minutes until smooth. Next, add the powdered sugar and beat well until blended. Pour this over the crust.
Step 5: Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 25 to 30 minutes.
Step 6: Take the bar out of the oven when done and allow it to cool completely before cutting it into bars. Serve and enjoy!
Tips:
Make sure to cool the cake completely before cutting.
To make the vanilla cake, you can use either a cake mix or you can make it from scratch.
Make powdered sugar by mixing regular sugar and powdered sugar.
The cake is done once the top of the cream is golden brown. Do not let it cook for too long or it’ll never result in a creamy texture.
