One Pot Ham & Penne Skillet Recipe

PREP TIME: 15 mins | COOK TIME: 15 mins | TOTAL TIME: 30 mins | SERVINGS: 6

Take those leftover holiday ham out of the fridge and make this easy and delicious one-pot ham & penne skillet for dinner tonight. Packed with ham, penne, and peas in a creamy sauce, this sure makes a filling, quick meal that the kids and adults will love and enjoy!

INGREDIENTS

1 tablespoon olive oil

1/2 cup chopped yellow onion

3 cloves minced garlic

3 cups cubed fully cooked ham

1/2 teaspoon dried parsley

1/2 teaspoon dried basil

1/4 teaspoon dried oregano

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

3 cups chicken broth

2 cups 2% milk

1/4 cup flour

16 ounces penne noodles, uncooked

2 cups frozen peas thawed

1/2 cup Parmesan cheese

How to make One Pot Ham & Penne Skillet

Step 1: In a large skillet, add a tbsp olive oil over medium heat until warm.

Step 2: Add the ham and onions into the hot oil and saute until the onions are translucent.

Step 3: Add in the garlic, parsley, basil, oregano, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook for a minute or two more.

Step 4: Pour in the broth and add in the milk, flour, and penne noodles. Stir well and bring to a boil.

Step 5: Adjust the heat to low and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes, constantly stirring.

Step 6: Add in the peas and continue to simmer for another 5 minutes or until the pasta is cooked through and the peas are warm.

Step 7: Then, sprinkle over the Parmesan cheese.

NOTE:

You can add a little water or broth to the mixture if you need more liquid.
