Taste like spaghetti with a dash of paprika or increase the liquid to make a soup consistency. Packed with ground beef, tomatoes, and macaroni this sure will be a huge hit not only with the kids but with everybody! A simple dish that is not fussy, super easy, and deliciously good.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons Olive Oil

2 pounds Lean Ground Beef or Ground Turkey

1 large Yellow Onion, diced

3 large cloves garlic, pressed or finely minced

2 large Bay Leaves

1 c Low Sodium Beef Broth* (chicken broth if using ground turkey)

2 – 14.5 ounces cans Diced Tomatoes with juice

2 – 15 ounces cans Tomato Sauce

2 teaspoons Low Sodium Soy Sauce (or Worcestershire sauce)

2 teaspoons Seasoned Salt (such as Johnny’s®)

1 teaspoon Black Pepper

2 teaspoons Italian Seasoning

1 tablespoon Paprika

2 c Uncooked Small Elbow Macaroni

How to make Old Fashioned Goulash

Step 1: Heat oil in a heated dutch oven or soup pot over medium-high heat. Cook the ground beef or turkey for about 10 minutes, stirring often until browned. Drain excess grease.

Step 2: Add the diced onion, garlic, and bay leaves into the pot and cook for another 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 3: Pour in the broth followed by the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, soy sauce, seasoned salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika. Stir to combine.

Step 4: Adjust the heat to low and cook for 15 minutes more, stirring often.

Step 5: Add the uncooked macaroni noodles into the pot and cover. Cook for another 15 to 25 minutes or until the pasta is done.

Step 6: When done, discard the bay leaves and serve immediately.

Note:

Adjust the beef broth by a cup or so to make a soupy goulash.
