Prep Time: 1 hr 15 mins | Cook Time: 30 mins | Total Time: 1 hr 45 mins | Yield: 8 Servings

This Deep-Dish Pizza has always been my go-to recipe whenever I crave a delicious pizza. It is kind of my comfort food! To make this, all you need are these simple ingredients and easy steps. I’m telling you; this will be the best decision you will ever make today. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

8 ounces fresh mozzarella, sliced

1/2 c pizza sauce (I love Muir Glen)

1/2 onion, diced

2 tbsp yellow cornmeal

1/2 c warm water (110-115 degrees F)

1 green pepper, diced

1/2 tsp salt

2 c unbleached all-purpose flour

1/4 c freshly grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 c shredded mozzarella

1 1/2 tsp instant yeast

2 tbsp olive oil

1/2 lb. cooked spicy Italian sausage

2 tbsp butter, melted

Optional: 1 jalapeno, thinly sliced

20 pepperoni slices

Directions:

Add melted butter, flour, water, salt, cornmeal, olive oil, and yeast into the bowl of a stand mixer. Beat everything until well incorporated.

Knead the dough for about 8 minutes or until it becomes smooth and sticky.

Add olive oil into a mixing bowl, then place the dough in it. Cover it with plastic and let it rise for about an hour at room temperature.

Prepare the oven and preheat it to 425 degrees F.

Apply cooking spray to a 9-inch springform pan.

Form the dough into a circle by stretching it out. Lay it into the prepared pan and wrap it with plastic. Allow the dough to rise for 15 more minutes at room temperature.

Stretch it out again, then bake for about 10 minutes or until it turns a bit golden brown.

Remove the crust from the oven and allow it to cool.

Spread sauce over the crust followed by the toppings and mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese.

Place it in the preheated oven and bake for about 20 to 25 minutes or until done.

Remove from the oven.

Serve and enjoy!
