My Apple Fritters

by Rebecca August 17, 2021

Prep time: 15 mins | Cook time: 15 mins | Serves: 8-10

Today, I decided to try different things. I have been saving this Apple Fritters recipe for weeks now but did not have the time to make them. They turned incredibly amazing, and my kids love every bit and piece! While still warm, sprinkle the fritters with cinnamon or roll them in cinnamon sugar or any of your desired toppings. Either way, these are the best Apple Fritters you’ll ever make!

Ingredients

vegetable oil, enough to fill frying pan 1/2 full (or use deep fryer)

FRITTERS:

1 1/2 cups flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons sugar

2 teaspoons cinnamon

1-1/2 teaspoons nutmeg

2/3 cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 large eggs, beaten

1 tablespoon butter, melted

3 cups apples, peeled and chopped

TOPPING:

cinnamon sugar

thin glaze, confectioners sugar, and milk

powdered sugar

How to make My Apple Fritters

Step 1: Preheat the oil to 350 degrees in a frying pan or use a deep fryer.

Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients and set them aside.

Step 3: Place the milk, vanilla, eggs, and butter in another bowl. Mix well until combined, then pour this into the flour mixture and whisk until incorporated. Fold in the apples until completely coated.

Step 4: Into the pan, once the oil temperature reached 350 degrees, drop the batter by tablespoon, making sure to not overcrowd the pan. If desired, you can flatten the batter slightly once in the pan. Cook the batter until the bottom is deep golden brown, bubbling slightly, and the top is dry. Turn on the other side and continue to cook until golden brown. Using a slotted spoon, fish the fritters from the oil and transfer them on paper towels to drain.

Step 5: Add the topping while the fritters are still warm. For this, I used cinnamon sugar but feel free to glaze or sprinkle them with powdered sugar, too. Serve and enjoy!
