by Rebecca November 11, 2020

Prep time: 30 mins | Cook time: 15 mins | Serves: 4

These are not your regular biscuits that tend to be a bit flaky, these Mile High biscuits are tall, fluffy, and delicious. A copy-cat of the famous Mile High Biscuits by Ruth’s Diner, these bad boys will surely wow you!

If you’ve never been to Ruth’s this recipe will bring you closer to her. A diner that is situated mile high above sea level. Their famous biscuits are to die for! And good news because you can make them in the comfort of your home. Thanks to this amazing recipe. The ingredients are simple and you don’t need any special skills to make these. One bite and I am pretty sure that you’ll want this over and over again.

Ingredients

3 c all-purpose flour

2 tbsp sugar

3/4 tsp salt

1 tbsp + 1/2 tsp baking powder

3/4 tsp cream of tartar

3/4 c butter

1 Egg, beaten

1 c + 2 tbsp milk

HOW TO MAKE MILE HIGH BISCUITS

Step 1: Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, cream of tartar, butter, and salt in a large mixing bowl until well mixed.

Step 2: Add the egg and milk in a different mixing bowl. Beat until incorporated.

Step 3: Add the egg mixture into the flour mixture. Mix well until blended.

Step 4: Place the dough on a flat surface with flour and knead at least 10 times.

Step 5: Roll to about an inch and slice using a 2 1/2-inch cutter.

Step 6: Transfer the cookie dough to a cookie sheet and bake in the oven for about 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.

Step 7: Once done, remove from the oven and onto a wire rack. Allow the cookies to cool for a bit at room temperature and serve warm. Enjoy!
