These sumptuous open-faced meatloaf sandwich with melted cheese on top are making my mouth water! Made with flavorful ground beef on toasted buns, these bad boys sure to impress the crowd. Super filling, out of this world delicious, and a breeze to prepare.

4 (6”) sub rolls
1 lb lean ground beef at least 90% lean
1 ¼ c saltine crackers
1 Egg
½ small onion minced
½ c milk
4 tablespoons ketchup plus more for topping
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon dried thyme
½ teaspoon garlic powder
2 c shredded cheddar cheese
tsp salt & pepper to taste
HOW TO MAKE MEATLOAF PATTY MELT
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 450 degrees F.
Step 2: Ready the rolls. Divide them in half lengthwise and place on a baking sheet. Set aside.
Step 3: Add the ground beef, crushed crackers, egg, onion, milk, 4 tablespoons ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, garlic powder, and salt and pepper in a medium bowl. Mix well.
Step 4: With the meat mixture, top each bun-half and evenly spread.
Step 5: On top of the meat mixture, spread extra ketchup.
Step 6: Place in the preheated oven. Bake for approximately 15 to 20 minutes, or until the meat reached 165 degrees F.
Step 7: When done, remove the meatloaf patty from the oven and sprinkle with shredded cheese on top.
Step 8: Place back in the oven and bake for 2 to 3 minutes more or until the cheese has melted.
