Simple ingredients, easy steps, and a few tips and tricks. These classic Italian Stuffed Shells do not require too much effort to make. It might look as if you put in so much work on them, but no! These stuffed shells are certainly easy and quick to throw together. Just make sure that the beef mixture is well-seasoned and you use a great quality Parmesan and a healthy heap of Italian seasoning. And you want your noodles to have a flavour, too so remember to boil them in salted water. That’s pretty much it! Plus this delicious dish pairs so well with a simple salad and french bread or breadsticks.

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

15 ounces can crushed tomatoes

15 ounces can tomato sauce

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

20 large shells

15 ounces ricotta cheese

1 Egg

4 ounces shredded Parmesan

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

2 c. mozzarella cheese

How to make Italian Stuffed Shells

Step 1: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef until completely cooked. Drain the excess grease when done. Season the ground beef with onion and garlic powder.

Step 2: In the skillet with the ground beef, add the cans of tomato sauce and crushed tomatoes. Let the mixture simmer.

Step 3: Following the direction from the box, cook the noodles. Drain when done and set the noodles aside.

Step 4: Combine the ricotta, egg, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.

Step 5: Into a large casserole dish, add a layer of meat sauce and set aside.

Step 6: Fill each noodle with the cheese mixture using a spoon. Repeat until all the shells are stuffed. Then, top the shells with the rest of the meat sauce and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.

Step 7: Place in 350 degrees preheated oven and bake for about 25 to 30 minutes until the cheese has melted and bubbly.
