Italian Sausage Soup With Orzo

This delicious, rich in tomato flavour, Spicy Italian Sausage with Orzo is so easy to whip up and takes only thirty minutes to make. You can make this either on a stovetop or crockpot for the perfect meal that your family serves.

Ingredients

500 grams Mild Italian Sausage

1 c Orzo Pasta

1 tablespoon Olive Oil

½ Onion

1 tablespoon Garlic

1 28 Oz Crushed Tomato

2 teaspoon Italian Seasoning

½ teaspoon red Chili Flakes (optional)

salt and pepper to taste

4 c Chicken Broth

2 c Spinach (Tightly Packed)

¼ c Half and Half

½ c Parmesan Cheese (to serve)

How to make Italian Sausage Soup With Orzo

Step 1: Place a pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.

Step 2: Add oil and allow it to become hot.

Step 3: Add the onion and garlic. Sauté until translucent and aromatic.

Step 4: Add the sausages and cook until crumbly and brown.

Step 5: Add the stock and scrape the bottom to get the brown bits.

Step 6: Add the Italian seasoning, tomatoes, salt, pepper, and chilli flakes.

Step 7: Allow the mixture to boil, then stir until well mixed.

Step 8: Add the Orzo Pasta and stir until well mixed.

Step 9: Cover the pan cook the pasta for about 10 minutes or until al dente.

Step 10: Add the spinach and stir until well mixed.

Step 11: Cook for 2 more minutes, then remove from the heat.

Step 12: Add half and half and stir until well mixed.

Step 13: Top with Parmesan cheese.

Step 14: Serve and enjoy!
