INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 pounds chicken thighs (4 chicken thighs)

Salt

Ground black pepper

1 1/2 tbsp cooking oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp chopped parsley

HONEY GARLIC SAUCE:

3 tbsp honey

1 tsp sugar or brown sugar

2 tbsp soy sauce

3 tbsp water or chicken broth, preferred

3 dashes cayenne pepper

HOW TO MAKE HONEY GARLIC CHICKEN

Step 1: Prepare the chicken thighs, season them with salt and pepper, then set aside.

Step 2: In a bowl, add the Honey Garlic Sauce ingredients and mix well, making sure that the honey and sugar are fully dissolved, then set aside.

Step 3: Set the Instant Pot to “Saute”. Once the pot is hot, add a tbsp cooking oil. Place the chicken thighs skin-side down and pan sear until each side is nicely brown.

Step 4: The chicken thighs still in the Instant Pot, add the rest of the half tbsp cooking oil followed by the garlic. Saute a bit, then pour in the sauce. Cover the pot and set it to “Manual” and High Pressure for about 10 minutes.

Step 5: Once you hear the beeps, turn the pot to “Quick Release”. Carefully remove the lid once the valve drops, then add in the chopped parsley.

Step 6: Serve the Chicken quickly with the honey garlic sauce.

NOTES:

You can make this recipe in a slow cooker or stovetop. Cook on high heat if using a slow cooker for about 3 hours. Alternately on a stovetop, pan-fry the chicken thighs, pour in the sauce, and simmer on low heat until the meat is tender.
