HOW TO MAKE INSTANT POT CHICKEN RECIPES – HONEY GARLIC CHICKEN
Step 1: With salt and pepper, season the chicken thighs, then set aside.
Step 2: Whisk the Honey Garlic Sauce ingredients (honey, sugar or brown sugar, soy sauce, water or chicken broth, and cayenne pepper) until well mixed, and the honey and sugar are completely dissolved. Set aside.
Step 3: Set your Instant Pot to Saute. Once the IP is heated, add a tbsp of cooking oil into it and place the chicken thighs skin-side down. Sear the chicken thighs until nicely brown on both sides.
Step 4: Add the rest of the half tbsp cooking oil in the Instant Pot with the chicken thighs along with the garlic. Saute the garlic for a bit before adding in the sauce. Put the lid on and set the IP to manual for 10 minutes cooking on High Pressure.
Step 5: When the time is up, turn the IP to Quick Release. Carefully remove the lid once the valve drops. Before serving, garnish the chicken with some chopped parsley and serve immediately with honey garlic sauce.
NOTES:
To make this recipe, I used a 6-quart Instant Pot.
The sauce is equivalent to 8 tbsp of liquid content (about half a cup).
Feel free to make this honey garlic chicken in a slow cooker or stovetop instead of Instant Pot.
If using a slow cooker, ensure not to overcook the chicken thighs. Cook for 3 hours on high heat.
To make this on the stovetop, pan-fry the chicken thighs before adding in the sauce. Allow the sauce to simmer over low heat, cooking the chicken until tender.
