1 lb Pork Tenderloin
Rub:
1 tbsp garlic salt
1 tbsp garlic pepper
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tbsp fresh thyme minced
1 tbsp fresh rosemary minced
2 tbsp butter
Honey Garlic Sauce:
½ c. honey
⅓ c. brown sugar
1 tbsp garlic minced
½ c. light soy sauce
⅓ c. orange juice
1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water for slurry
How to make Honey Garlic Roasted Pork Tenderloin
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 400 degrees F.
Step 2: After removing any fat from the pork, puncture the pork in various places using a fork.
Step 3: In a small bowl, add the rub ingredients (garlic salt, garlic pepper, onion powder, chilli powder, fresh thyme, fresh rosemary, and butter). Mix and spread this on every side of the pork. Make sure to press the rub firmly so the rub gets on the pork.
Step 4: Preheat a heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Add the butter and melt. Once the butter has melted, add the pork to the skillet and sear until just browned. Flip the pork and sear the other side. This takes about 2 minutes per side. Then, transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and roast the pork for about 20 minutes.
Step 5:In the meantime, add the honey garlic sauce ingredients (honey, brown sugar, garlic, light soy sauce, and orange juice) in a small saucepan except for the slurry (cornstarch and water). Stir to combine and bring the mixture to a slight boil. Meanwhile, whisk the cornstarch and water to make the slurry, then add it to the sauce. Continue stirring until the sauce has slightly thickened. When done, remove from the heat and set aside.
Step 6: Baste the pork immediately after removing it from the oven with the honey garlic sauce. Return to the oven and broil on high for about 3 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
Step 7: Remove from the oven and tent the pork, allowing it to rest for at least 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, slice the pork and serve garnished with some fresh chopped thyme and rosemary. Enjoy!
