I love this Bread Pudding so much! This is the perfect treat to serve pretty much all the time! I like eating it with vanilla ice cream. By the way, feel free to add more ingredients if you want. I am sure that you can do a lot with this very simple recipe. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
Bread Pudding:
2 cups whole milk
1/4 cup butter softened
1/3 cup sugar
3 Eggs
2 teaspoons
cinnamon
1 teaspoon
pure vanilla extract
3 cups bread tore into pieces (any bread, although French bread or raisin bread is great)
1/4 cup raisins
Sauce:
1 cup whole milk
2 tablespoon butter softened
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 tablespoon flour
dash(es) salt
Directions:
Step 1: Place a saucepan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Step 2: Add the milk and allow it to become hot.
Step 3: Add the butter right away and stir until completely melted and well blended with the milk. Remove from the heat.
Step 4: In a medium mixing bowl, add the eggs, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon. Whisk until well combined.
Step 5: Gently transfer the milk mixture into the egg mixture. Whisk until well mixed.
Step 6: In a casserole dish, toss in the torn pieces of bread.
Step 7: Slowly pour the batter over the bread and sprinkle the raisins on top as well.
Step 8: Place casserole dish inside the oven and bake for 45 to 50 minutes at 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Step 9: Remove the bread from the oven and let it sit for about 5 minutes.
To Make the Sauce:
Step 1: Place a saucepan on the stove and add all the ingredients for the sauce.
Step 2: Turn the heat to medium and allow the sauce to boil. Make sure to stir regularly to prevent the sauce from burning.
Step 3: Remove from the heat and allow it to cool for a few minutes.
Step 4: Pour the sauce over the warm bread.
Step 5: Serve and enjoy!
