Puddings are everything to my mom. She loves pudding so much that I cannot count how many pudding recipes she already tried to make. But she has her favourites and this is one of the few. Easy to whip up, a no-fuss, and turned out wonderful as expected. You can add in fewer or more raisins depending on how you like it. Try adding in some chopped nuts. I did and it was amazing! Enjoy this tasty and comforting Homestyle Bread Pudding by itself or with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. This is no doubt a great recipe that you should not miss!

2 cups whole milk
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/3 cup sugar
3 Eggs
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
3 cups bread, torn into pieces (any bread, although french bread or raisin bread is great)
1/4 cup raisins
SAUCE:
1 cup whole milk
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 tablespoon flour
dash(es) salt
How to make Homestyle Bread Pudding
Step 1: Heat the milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Add in the butter, constantly stirring until the butter has melted, then set aside.
Step 2: Combine the sugar, eggs, cinnamon, and vanilla in a different container. Gradually add in the milk mixture and set aside.
Step 3: In a casserole dish, place the torn pieces of bread. Pour the batter over and sprinkle with raisins. Place in a 350 degrees F oven and bake for about 45 to 50 minutes until set.
Step 4: To make the sauce, whisk the sauce ingredients (whole milk, softened butter, sugar, pure vanilla extract, flour, and dashes of salt) in a saucepan. Bring this to a boil while stirring continuously. When done, remove from heat and set aside for a couple of minutes before pouring the sauce on the warm bread pudding.
