HOMEMADE PEACH PIE RECIPE

by Rebecca April 5, 2021

Prep time: 15 mins | Cook time: 1 hr | Total time: 1 hr 15 mins | Yield: 8 Slices

I received great reviews from family and friends with this Homemade Peach Pie. A great summer dessert that you can whip up with simple ingredients. And with fresh Elberta peaches and a flaky pie crust, everyone will sure not miss summer!

INGREDIENTS

2 unbaked pie crusts

2 tablespoons Minute tapioca

2 tablespoons butter softened

6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced

1 1/4 cups sugar

1/3 cup flour

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

cream and sugar

HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE PEACH PIE

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 425 degrees.

Step 2: In a round 9-inch pie pan, place a piece of crust. Using a fork, pierce the sides and bottom of the crust, then sprinkle 2 tbsp of the tapioca.

Step 3: In a large bowl, combine the sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Then, add in the peaches.

Step 4: With the peach mixture, top the bottom pie crust, then add pats of butter on top.

Step 5: Over the peaches, place the second crust. With the bottom crust, press the edges together and trim the crust. Around the edges, leave about half an inch of crust. Underneath, tuck the crust, and using your fingers, pinch together to make a scalloped edge.

Step 6: To allow the steam to escape, make a few slits on the crust. Or you can place the pie in the freezer and seal it for later.

Step 7: Brush the crust lightly with some cream and lightly sprinkle with granulated sugar.

Step 8: Place inside the preheated oven and bake for about 50 to 60 minutes.

Step 9: Before serving, let the pie cool for at least an hour.
