HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE CINNAMON ROLLS

Rolls:

Step 1: Add the warm milk, sugar, and melted butter to a large bowl. Whisk to combine. Note that the mixture should be between 100 to 110 degrees F warm. Over the mixture, sprinkle the yeast and whisk until just combined. Let it sit for at least 5 minutes until frothy.

Step 2: Add in 4 cups of flour. Using a wooden spoon, mix until you a dough form. Using a clean towel or plastic wrap, cover the mixture and let it rise for an hour in a warm place until the size has doubled.

Step 3: Meanwhile, grease 2 round cake pans with butter and set them aside.

Step 4: After the mixture has risen, add in the baking powder, salt, and ¾ cup flour. Mix well, then knead on a well-floured surface to lose its stickiness. If needed, add more flour.

Step 5: Into about half an inch thick large rectangle, roll the dough. Make sure that the corners are even and defined.

Step 6: Over the dough, evenly spread the softened butter, sprinkle the brown sugar, then the cinnamon on top, lightly pressing into the butter.

Step 7: To make a log, roll the dough and pinch the seam to seal. Into 14 equal parts, divide and cut the dough to about 1 1/2-inch thickness.

Step 8: Into each prepared cake pans, place 7 rolls. Lightly press the rolls onto each other. Using a clean towel or plastic wrap, cover the pans. Set aside in a warm area to rise for at least 30 minutes.

Step 9: In the meantime, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Icing:

Step 1: Place the cream cheese and butter in a medium-sized bowl. Beat to combine. Add in the powdered sugar and vanilla and mix until incorporated. Pour in the milk and continue to mix until smooth. If needed, add more milk. Set aside.

Step 2: Uncover the rolls and brush with melted butter. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown.

Step 3: Over the cinnamon rolls, evenly drizzle the icing.

Step 4: Serve and enjoy!
