HOMEMADE CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH PEANUT BUTTER FROSTING

Cooking Time: 1 hr

Moist cake with decadent peanut butter frosting. A real treat for all the peanut butter lover. Easy to make, comes out great always and requires only a few pantry essentials. Perfect for any occasion, as a dessert, or for entertaining guests.

Ingredients

2 c all-purpose flour

2 c granulated sugar

3/4 c cocoa powder

1 1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp baking powder

2 large Eggs

1 tsp salt

1 c buttermilk

1 c of vegetable oil

1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1 c cold-brewed coffee

PEANUT BUTTER FROSTING:

1/2 c butter, softened

1 c creamy peanut butter

3 tbsp milk (or more as needed)

2 c confectioners’ sugar

HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH PEANUT BUTTER FROSTING

Step 1: Ready the oven. Preheat it to 175 degrees C or 300 degrees F.

Step 2: Use cooking spray to grease a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.

Step 3: Combine the flour, cocoa, sugar, baking soda, and baking powder in a large mixing bowl until well mixed.

Step 4: Add the eggs in a different mixing bowl. Use an electric mixer to beat until well mixed. Add in the oil, vanilla, and coffee and continue beating until combined.

Step 5: Mix the flour mixture and buttermilk with the egg mixture until incorporated.

Step 6: Pour the batter over the prepared baking dish and evenly spread on the bottom.

Step 7: Bake in the preheated oven for about an hour or until a toothpick inserted in the centre of the cake comes out clean.

Step 8: Once done, remove from the oven and onto a wire rack. Allow cooling at room temperature.

Step 9: Meanwhile, add the peanut butter and butter in a medium mixing bowl. Use an electric mixer to combine until well mixed.

Step 10: Add in the powdered sugar followed by milk and continue beating until incorporated.

Step 11: Generously spread the frosting over the cooled cake.
