Hamburger Steaks is a classic family meal. Ground beef combined with bread crumbs and seasonings in rich mushrooms and onions sauce. Serve with mashed potatoes and your favourite veggies for a complete meal.

Steaks:
1 lb ground beef
1 tsp soy sauce
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
½ tsp pepper
¼ tsp salt
1/3 c bread crumbs
1 Egg
4 tbsp butter divided
Sauce:
8 oz mushrooms sliced
1 c sweet onion thinly sliced
1 tsp garlic minced
3 tbsp flour
2 c beef broth
1 ½ tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
Chopped parsley for garnish
How to make Hamburger Steaks
Step 1: Combine the ground beef, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, salt, bread crumbs, and egg in a large bowl until just combined. Then, form into four equal patties.
Step 2: Melt 2 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the butter has melted, add and cook the ground patties for about 4 minutes on both sides until browned. When done, transfer on a plate.
Step 3: Adjust the heat to medium and add the rest of the 2 tbsp butter into the same skillet. Saute the sliced onions and mushrooms for about 5 to 6 minutes until soft and brown.
Step 4: Stir in the garlic and cook for a minute more.
Step 5: Over the mushrooms, onions, and garlic, sprinkle the flour. Stir while cooking for another minute.
Step 6: Pour in the beef broth, followed by the Worcestershire sauce. To taste, season with salt and pepper. Cook further (5 to 6 minutes) while frequently stirring.
Step 7: Add the hamburger steak to the skillet with the juices from the plate. Cover the steak with the gravy.
Step 8: Cover the skillet, decrease the heat to a simmer, and cook for 10 minutes more.
Step 9: Uncover and cook for 10 to 15 minutes more to allow the sauce to thicken.
Step 10: Before serving, garnish with chopped parsley.
