Hamburger, Sausage, Broccoli Alfredo – Low Carb

by Rebecca August 12, 2021

Prep time: 20 mins | Cook time: 45 mins | Serves: 6 to 8

This low-carb meal is loaded with hamburgers, sausage, and broccoli. An incredibly easy and quick dish to throw together using simple ingredients. Crazy good, you would not mind its appearance. A few comments I read said this will never win a beauty contest but will capture the heart of millions because of its amazing taste! And I could not agree more. The combination of sausage and beef makes the best base which adds tons of flavour to this dish. And the creamy Alfredo sauce is just right and brings everything together!

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 pound bulk sausage (breakfast or Italian will work)

1 teaspoon oregano, dried

1 small onion, chopped

1 clove garlic, minced

10-12 ounces fresh broccoli

1 pkg cream cheese, 8 ounces

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded

salt and pepper, to taste

How to make Hamburger, Sausage, Broccoli Alfredo – Low Carb

Step 1: Cook the hamburger, sausage, onion, and garlic in a large skillet over medium heat until the hamburger is brown. To taste, season with oregano, salt, and pepper. When done, drain the excess grease.

Step 2: In the meantime, steam the broccoli until tender but still a bit crisp, then season with salt and pepper.

Step 3: In a microwaveable bowl, place the cream cheese and microwave for approximately 45 minutes on high, whisking until creamy and soft.

Step 4: Slowly whisk in the cream until smooth. Add the Parmesan cheese and stir to combine.

Step 5: In a large greased 2 ½ quart or larger casserole dish, combine the hamburger, broccoli, and cream sauce. If needed, season with more salt and pepper. On top, sprinkle with shredded cheese.

Step 6: Place in 350 degrees preheated oven and bake for about 35 to 45 minutes until bubbly around the edges.
