INGREDIENTS
1 c. buttermilk
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. sour cream
1 tbsp honey
1/2 c. sharp cheddar cheese, grated
1/3 c. chives, finely chopped
1/2 c. deli ham, diced
1/4 c. (1/2 stick) cold, unsalted butter, grated
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper
How to make Ham and Cheese Drop Biscuits
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 450 degrees F. Using parchment paper or a silicone baking mat, line a baking sheet.
Step 2: In a large bowl, place the flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, and baking soda. Mix well until combined. Cut in the cold, grated butter using two forks or a pastry cutter until you have a coarse and pebbly mixture. Then, fold in the cheese, ham, and chives until just blended. Next, add the buttermilk, sour cream, and honey. Mix again until just combined.
Step 3: On a lined baking sheet, drop spoonfuls of the biscuit dough using a large spoon or ice cream scoop. Place in the preheated oven and bake the biscuits for about 12 to 14 minutes or until just browned.
Step 4: Take the biscuits out of the oven when done and serve them warm. Enjoy!
