by Rebecca June 30, 2021

Prep Time: 15 mins | Cook Time: 25 mins | Marinating time: 30 mins | Total Time: 40 mins

Tender and succulent meat marinated for at least thirty minutes or overnight to make sure that the pork chunks absorbed the amazing flavours of the marinade. These Greek Pork Souvlakis are one heck of an easy and quick dinner that your family will love! Bite-sized chunks of pork steak or pork fillet marinated in oregano, rosemary, garlic, and lemon, skewered, and grilled until juicy and golden! Serve these with a simple side salad with lemon dressing, flatbread, Greek salad with feta cheese, potato wedges, etc. Note that you can also make these in the oven. Leave the grill for the weekend and enjoy these today baked at 250 degrees C or 480 degrees F for about 5 to 7 minutes on each side. Make sure to place the skewered meat on a rack set inside a roasting tray before baking.

Ingredients

1 kg (approx 2 lbs) pork steak/pork fillet Chopped into bite-sized chunks

¼ c. olive oil

1/3 c. fresh lemon juice

4 garlic cloves crushed

2 teaspoons dried oregano

2 teaspoons rosemary finely chopped

1-2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

How to make Greek pork souvlaki

Step 1: After combining the marinade ingredients, pour it over the pork. Marinate the pork for at least 30 minutes or overnight in the fridge, covered.

Step 2: In the meantime, soak the wooden skewers in water for about 30 minutes.

Step 3: Onto the soaked skewers, very carefully skewer the marinated pork.

Step 4: Ready your outdoor grill or griddle pan. Add the skewers to the grill or pan when ready and cook each side for about 5 to 7 minutes until the pork is golden brown and cooked through.

Step 5: When done, take away from the heat and let the souvlaki rest for at least 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy with some lemon wedges on the side.
