This is an incredibly moist banana bread recipe that came from my grandma’s old recipe book. A recipe that she kept in her stash for a long time and I think it is time to share this with e. It’s pretty simple to throw together, all you need are six bananas (yes, you heard me right, six!) and a few other ingredients that are super easy to find. Prep this in just 15 minutes and leave it to bake in the oven for an hour or so. When this is ready, you’ll have yourself a moist, extremely delicious banana-flavoured loaf that your family and guests will love! I have been making this for as long as I can remember and served this amazing banana bread to every crowd and they adore this!

3 c. sugar
1 c. margarine, softened
1 tsp vanilla extract
4 Eggs
3 ½ c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
1 c. buttermilk
6 very ripe bananas, mashed
How to make Grandma’s Banana Bread
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 325 degrees F or 165 degrees C. And ready a 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Lightly grease and set aside.
Step 2: Place the sugar and margarine in a large bowl, then cream until light and fluffy. Add in the eggs a piece at a time, beating well every after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla.
Step 3: Sift the flour, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl. Add this into the egg mixture, alternately with the buttermilk, making sure to mix only until just blended. Then, fold in the mashed bananas and mix until just evenly combined.
Step 4: Into the prepared pan, pour the batter. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 60 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the loaf comes out clean.
