This Goulash with Smoked Sausage has been my family’s favourite! This is one of our top meals that I love to make always. It is incredibly easy to put together and guarantee the best hearty meal that everyone enjoys so much. The fantastic flavour of this goulash is hard to resist. Make sure to give this amazing dish a try very soon!

Ingredients

1 tablespoon Olive oil

14-16 ounces smoked sausage sliced

1 onion thinly sliced

3 garlic cloves minced or pressed through a garlic press

2 tablespoons butter

1.5 to 2 pounds medium-size red skin potatoes peeled and sliced into 1/2” thick circles (about 2 3/4 lbs.)

1 1/2 teaspoons paprika

1/3 cup parsley chopped

1 1/2 cups chicken stock

3/4 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper

Salt to taste

TO MAKE GOULASH WITH SMOKED SAUSAGE

Step 1: Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large deep skillet. Once the oil is hot, add the smoked sausage medallions to the skillet and cook for a few minutes until deep brown. Once cooked, set the sausage aside.

Step 2: Melt the butter in the same pan. Add the onions once the butter has melted and saute for about 5 to 7 minutes until caramelized. Then, add the garlic and season with salt, freshly cracked black pepper, and paprika Stir and cook for 2 minutes more.

Step 3: Now, add the sliced potato to the pan. Pour in the chicken stock and add the parsley. Mix and cover the pan. Let everything simmer over medium-low heat for about 15 minutes. Uncover and continue to simmer for another 10 minutes until the potatoes are tender and the sauce has slightly thickened. Make sure to stir once or twice as it cooks.

Step 4: Add the sausage and season with a couple more pinches of salt and pepper.

Step 5: Take the pan off the heat and serve the goulash right away. Enjoy!
