One bite of this decadent chocolate pie brought me to heaven! Impressive and one of the most wonderful chocolate pies you can whip up using only a few simple ingredients. It’s a beautiful cake with fabulous taste perfect for every occasion, entertaining, or even as a simple after-meal dessert.

This is a winner recipe. A must try and surely one to keep! Satisfy your sweet tooth with this chocolate pie anytime. Whip this up soon, and I promise you’ll love it all the way! Made this a few days ago and making this again tomorrow for a friend’s birthday as per her request. I told you, this cake is the bomb!

Ingredients

sweetened whipped cream or whipped topping

2 tablespoons butter

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

2 cups milk chocolate chips (or dark chocolate if you prefer)

1/2 teaspoon salt

4 egg yolks

3 cups milk

2/3 cup sugar

1/3 cup cornstarch

1 deep dish pie shell or use a 10-inches pie pan

HOW TO MAKE CHOCOLATE PIE

Step 1: Following the package directions, bake the pie shell, then cool.

Step 2: Mix the sugar with cornstarch and salt in a 2-quart saucepan.

Step 3: Combine the egg yolks and milk in a container with a pouring spout. Into the sugar mixture, slowly mix the milk mixture.

Step 4: Cook the mixture, stirring for about a minute over medium heat until it comes to a boil. Once boiling, remove from the heat. Add the butter and vanilla. Stir well, then add the 1 3/4 cup of chocolate chips. Stir again until the chips have melted and are well incorporated.

Step 5: Into the prepared pie shell, pour the mixture. Into the filling, press a plastic wrap. Let it cool and place in the fridge for a few hours until well chilled and firm.

Step 6: Before serving, garnish with whipped cream and the rest of the chocolate chips. Enjoy!
