Georgia Peach Cobbler

by Rebecca August 17, 2021

Prep time: 10 mins | Cook time: 40 mins | Serves: 6-8

Using only four ingredients, you can whip this cobbler up in no time! Always my go-to whenever I have unexpected company, and I needed a quick and easy dessert. And everyone is crazy over the crunchy top and gooey inside of this amazing cobbler. Serve this by itself or top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. And make sure to enjoy this straight from the oven!

Ingredients

3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 cup self-rising flour

1/4 cup plus 1/4 c. (1 stick) butter, melted

1 can(s) (28-oz.) sliced peaches, undrained

How to make Georgia Peach Cobbler

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F. And using nonstick cooking spray, grease an 8 x 11-inch baking dish and set it aside.

Step 2: Coarsely mix 3/4 cup of sugar with flour and 1/4 cup melted butter in a medium-size mixing bowl. And on the bottom of the prepared baking dish, sprinkle about 1/3 of this mixture.

Step 3: Over the mixture, add the peaches and juice. You can add a little amount of water if the juice from the peaches does not cover the peaches. Note that too little liquid will result in a dry cobbler, and too much liquid will make it soupy.

Step 4: With the rest of the sugar/flour mixture, top the peaches and sprinkle with the rest of the 2 tbsp sugar and 1/4 cup butter. Place in the preheated and bake for about 30 to 40 minutes until the cobbler is brown and bubbly.

Step 5: When done, remove from the oven and serve the cobbler hot. Enjoy!

TIPS:

For this recipe, you can also use fresh peaches. Peel, slice, and sprinkle with an extra half cup of sugar. Place the peaches on the fridge for at least 2 to 3 hours before using.

You can replace the self-rising flour with all-purpose flour. Remember that for every 1 cup of self-rising flour, you need to mix 1 c. all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon baking soda.
