Garlic Roasted Cabbage

PREP TIME: 10 mins | COOK TIME: 40 mins | TOTAL TIME: 50 mins | SERVINGS: 6

Five-ingredients Garlic Roasted Cabbage is a light yet filling meal. With delicious flavours and amazing textures in every bite. This dish is perfect to serve as is or with almost anything!

INGREDIENTS

1 medium cabbage

4 tablespoons plant-based or regular butter (like Country Crock® Plant Butter)

1 teaspoon salt or to taste

2 teaspoons taco seasoning (to taste)

1 1/2 tablespoons garlic powder or to taste

How to make Garlic Roasted Cabbage

Step 1: Gently slice the cabbage with a sharp knife into an inch thick rounds after getting rid of the bruised leaves.

Step 2: On top of the cabbage slices, spread the softened butter. Season with salt, taco spice, and garlic powder.

Step 3: Use parchment paper to line a large baking sheet.

Step 4: Place the cabbage rounds on the prepared baking sheet seasoned side down. On top of the cabbage rounds, spread the butter and sprinkle with seasonings.

Step 5: Place inside the oven. Bake at 450 degrees F for about 20 minutes.

Step 6: Carefully flip the cabbage and bake for another 15 to 20 minutes or until nicely roasted and cooked through.

NOTE:

Substitute the taco seasoning with other varieties like paprika, berbere, zaatar, or dried Italian herbs.

TO SERVE:

Serve the Garlic Roasted Cabbage by itself for a light meal or snack.

Alongside proteins such as hummus or tofu. Or with chicken or beef.

For a light meal or snack, serve this on a slice of rustic bread.

This dish is perfect with mashed potatoes, too!
