This pork chop dish has been my family’s favourite for years! I love how I can make this using only a few simple ingredients and expect great results. While searing the pork chops, you can also throw in the asparagus for an easy and quick meal.
INGREDIENTS
2 tbsp vegetable oil
4 tbsp butter
2 Bone-in thick pork chops, about 1” thick
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
3 tbsp garlic minced
3 tbsp brown sugar
fresh parsley chopped
salt and pepper
HOW TO MAKE GARLIC BROWN SUGAR PORK CHOPS
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 400 degrees. Sprinkle the pork chops with salt and pepper.
Step 2: In an oven-safe skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops to the hot skillet and sear all sides for about 3 minutes. Set the pork chops aside when done.
Step 3: Using the same skillet, saute the garlic, brown sugar, red pepper in butter over low heat for about 3 minutes. Then, return the pork chops to the pan and toss to coat with the sauce.
Step 4: Transfer the skillet into the preheated oven and bake the pork chops for about 8 to 10 minutes or until the internal temperature of the meat reached 145 degrees.
Step 5: Take the pork chops from the oven when done and allow them to rest for about 5 minutes. Then, serve garnished with some fresh chopped parsley. Enjoy!
NOTES:
You can simply transfer everything to a baking dish if you do not have an oven-safe pan.
Adjust the cooking time accordingly if using thinner pork chop.
