1/2 lbs chopped bacon
1 c. chopped onion
1 lb lean ground beef
1 tbsp steak seasoning (I used McCormick)
12 oz. Velveeta, cubed
1 (13.8-oz.) thin crust pizza dough (I used Pillsbury)
1 1/2 c. grated cheddar jack cheese
Sauce:
1/2 c. mayonnaise
2 tbsp ketchup
salt & pepper to taste
How to make Garbage Bread
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 425 degrees. Using parchment paper, line a baking sheet and set it aside.
Step 2: Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium-low heat until crisp. Set the bacon aside when done, then drain most of the grease from the pan.
Step 3: Add the onions and ground beef in the same skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the onions until soft and the meat is cooked through. Drain the excess liquid/grease from the pan when done.
Step 4: Into the same pan, add the bacon back and season with steak seasoning. Add in the Velveeta and cook until the cheese has melted, stirring continuously. Then, take the pan out of the heat.
Step 5: Onto the prepared baking sheet, roll out the pizza dough. On top, evenly spread the meat mixture, making sure to leave an inch of space at the edges. On top of the meat, sprinkle the grated cheese. Beginning from the long sides, roll the pizza dough, then pinch the crust to seal. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown. When done, remove from the oven and let it cool for at least 5 to 10 minutes, then slice.
Sauce:
Step 1: Combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
Step 2: If desired, dip the sliced bread into the sauce. Enjoy!
