Prep Time: 15 mins | Cook Time: 45 mins | Total Time: 1 hr | Servings: 8

Funeral Potatoes are cheesy and creamy potatoes with a crunchy, buttery topping that you sure will fall in love with quickly! One of the finest comfort food you can lay your hands to.

Ingredients

1 (28 ounces) package frozen cubed O’Brien potatoes, thawed

1 tsp garlic salt

½ tsp pepper

1 tsp dried onion flakes

1 tablespoon dried chives

2 c. shredded cheddar cheese

1 (10.5 ounces) can cream of chicken

2 c. sour cream

2 c. crushed potato chips

3 tablespoons salted butter, melted

HOW TO MAKE FUNERAL POTATOES

Step 1: Thaw the potatoes in the fridge overnight. Alternately, put them on the counter and thaw for about an hour.

Step 2: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 375 degrees F.

Step 3: Using nonstick cooking spray, grease an 11 x 7-inch or 9 x 13-inch baking dish.

Step 4: Combine the thawed potatoes with seasonings and cheese in a large bowl. Add in the cream of chicken soup and sour cream, then stir.

Step 5: Into the prepared baking dish, spread the mixture.

Step 6: With nonstick foil, cover the baking dish. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 45 minutes until bubbly.

Step 7: Crush the potato chips. Then, measure out about 2 cups of the crushed chips.

Step 8: Over the potatoes after they have been cooked, spread the crushed potato chips, then pour on top the melted butter.

Step 9: Put the dish back into the oven and bake for another 10 minutes, uncovered.

Step 10: Broil for a minute or two but this step is optional if you want a darker topping.

Step 11: Remove from the oven and let the potatoes cool for at least 10 minutes.

Step 12: Serve and enjoy!
