Fried Dill Pickles

by Rebecca June 18, 2020

What the heck is a fried dill pickle? This is my exact thought when I first saw this recipe online. As I’ve read through the comments my curiosity just was blown off the roof. All of them said great things about it. So I jumped to my feet and put on my apron. First, let me tell you this, I never thought that this would be the easiest and quickest to make. I mean you just need to drain and dry the pickles, mix the egg and flour batter, then, dip the pickles onto the batter, and fry. Easy peasy, right? When these fried dill pickles were out of the pan, I was speechless! I mean they look amazing and they taste absolutely delicious! They are crispy and crunchy with a tangy dill pickle flavor. Now I can officially say that I’ve been missing out! This is a must-try you guys and very addictive I tell you. I’ve made it many times since.

INGREDIENTS

1-pint dill pickle, sliced and undrained

1 large egg, beaten

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, plus

1 1⁄2 cups all-purpose flour

1⁄2 teaspoon ground red pepper

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1⁄4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon paprika

hot sauce

vegetable oil (for frying)

How to make Fried Dill Pickles

Step 1: Drain the pickles and reserve 2/3 cup of pickle juice.

Step 2: Dry the pickles by pressing them between paper towels.

Step 3: In a bowl, combine the reserved pickle juice, egg, 1 tablespoon flour, and hot sauce. Stir until well mixed. Set aside.

Step 5: First dip the pickles in the egg mixture, then in the flour mixture.

Step 6: Heat the oil in 375 degrees F and fry the coated pickles until golden brown.

Step 7: Once done, remove from the oil and transfer to paper towels to drain.
