My favourite biscuits – fluffy, light, baked up tall, and turn out perfect always! These are better than any store-bought biscuits, made from scratch at the comfort of your home with only six ingredients.
Thanks to this easy recipe, my biscuits are always incredible and impressive! The fluffiest biscuits I’ve seen and made with addicting crisp interior and very soft middle. I am not a pro, but this recipe is pretty straightforward it is hard to mess this up. And it’s super easy so anyone can pull this off!

I love homemade biscuits especially these. Perfect all the way through, and nothing can compete or compare to these ultra flaky, mega fluffy, and buttery biscuits! And the taste is remarkable!
Baked to perfection, these golden-brown Buttermilk Biscuits with buttery layers are the perfect side dish! Probably an understatement because this is even better!
Ingredients
2 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
3 teaspoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter flavour shortening (or use regular shortening)
2/3 cup milk
1 Egg
How to make Fluffy Southern Buttermilk Biscuits
Step 1: Place the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a medium-sized bowl. Combine well, then cut in the shortening. Mix well until the consistency resembles coarse crumbs.
Step 2: In another bowl, beat the egg with milk. Add this into the dry ingredients, mixing until just moistened.
Step 3: On a well-floured surface, knead the dough for about 20 times. Then, roll it to 3/4 inch thickness.
Step 4: Using a biscuit cutter, cut the dough into 2 1/2 inches pieces.
Step 5: Transfer onto a lightly greased baking sheet and place inside a 450 degrees preheated oven. Bake for about 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
