2 tsp vanilla extract
1 sheet puff pastry
1/4 c granulated sugar
1 large Egg
7 ounces almond paste
1/4 c sliced almonds
1 tbsp water
Directions:
Prepare the oven and preheat it to 200 degrees C or 400 degrees F.
Line a sheet of parchment paper to the inside of a baking sheet.
Add water and egg into a mixing bowl. Whisk until well blended.
Add vanilla extract, almond paste, and sugar to a food processor. Pulse a few times until well incorporated.
Unroll the pastry sheet to the lined baking sheet. Press it to the sides and bottom.
Make 1-inch slits over the pastry on the baking sheet. Place the almond mixture in the middle of it.
Fold the pastry from one end to another diagonally. Brush it with the egg wash, then scatter the almonds on top.
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the Sweet Almond Pastry for about 17 to 20 minutes or until it turns golden brown.
Remove from the oven and allow it to rest for at least10 minutes at room temperature before slicing and serving.
