We love to enjoy this Salisbury steak with our favorite good-old creamy, rich mashed potatoes. Throw in some vibrant greens to your plate such as green beans to complete the meal. Or if you want something a bit sweet, this pairs perfectly with glazed carrots, too!
Ingredients
Patties:
1/3 c. Bread Crumbs
1 pound Lean Ground Beef
1 teaspoon Mustard
2 teaspoons Ketchup
1 teaspoon Worcestershire
1/2 teaspoon Onion Powder
1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
Gravy:
2 c. hot Water
2 packets of Brown Gravy Mix
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire
1 teaspoon Ketchup
How to make Simple Salisbury Steak
Step 1: In a large bowl, place the Patties ingredients. Using your hands, massage the mixture until well mixed.
Step 2: In a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp olive oil over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the patties to the skillet and cook until browned.
Step 3: Adjust the heat to low.
Step 4: Mix the gravy mix and water until well combined. Add the ketchup and Worcestershire. Stir well until blended, then pour this over the patties in the skillet.
Step 5: Simmer everything until the gravy has thickened and warmed through.
Note:
I recommend using lean ground beef for best results. You can also whip up your own homemade beef gravy.
