3 c. all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1 ½ teaspoon sea salt
1 ½ c. warm water (105 degrees F)
How to make Easy No-Knead Bread
Step 1: In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, and salt. Pour in the water and mix until you have a ball. Using a plastic wrap greased with cooking spray, cover the bowl, then tent with a damp tea towel. Set the dough aside for 18 to 24 hours at room temperature.
Step 2: Prepare the oven at least an hour before serving and preheat it to 450 degrees F.
Step 3: In the oven, while preheating, place a 2 ¾ quart dutch oven (or a 2.4 litres baking dish) with a lid.
Step 4: Meanwhile, knead the dough on a floured surface. Shape it into a ball, adding if needed a couple of tablespoons of flour. Tent the dough ball with a floured towel. Take note that the perfect consistency of the dough is loose and floppy.
Step 5: Take the hot baking dish from the oven very carefully. Remove the lid and grease the dish with cooking spray or line with parchment paper. Into the baking dish, gently place the dough ball. Cover, place in the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes.
Step 6: Uncover and resume baking for another 15 minutes until the loaf is golden brown.
Step 7: Once done, remove the loaf from the baking dish and onto a rack to cool before slicing. Remember to cover it with a tea towel to keep it warm.
NOTES:
Swap a cup of flour with white whole wheat flour. Aside from this change, I would not recommend making any more changes. And remember that this Dutch Oven Bread is perfect when made with all-purpose flour.
For the best results, use pure, fine sea salt.
For this recipe, the best choice is active dry yeast. You can use a rapid rise yeast but remember to let the dough rise overnight.
Use 105 degrees warm water.
For some fun varieties, you can try to mix in Parmesan cheese, fresh herbs, roasted garlic, etc.
