Ingredients

Meatballs:

1 large egg

1 small onion, finely chopped

1.5 pounds ground beef

1/4 c. seasoned breadcrumbs

2 teaspoons dried parsley

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon ground allspice

1 clove garlic, minced

2 tablespoons milk

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground pepper

Dijon Gravy:

1 c. milk

3 tablespoons salted butter

1 1/2 c. beef broth

2 teaspoons Dijon mustard

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

How to make Easy Meatballs in Dijon Gravy

Step 1: Place the meatball ingredients in a large bowl. Mix well until completely blended. Knead using your hands or do this in a stand mixer with a dough hook attachment.

Step 2: Using your hands or a cookie scoop, shape the meat mixture into balls. On a baking sheet, place the meatballs and pop in the freezer for about 5 to 10 minutes.

Step 3: In a large skillet, heat the oil. Once hot, add the meatballs to the skillet and cook all sides until brown and completely cooked. When done, set the meatballs aside.

Step 4: In the same skillet, melt the butter. Once the butter has melted, whisk in the flour until medium brown. Then, pour in the broth and let it simmer until the mixture has thickened. Now, add the milk along with the mustard. Simmer further until thick and creamy.

Step 5: To the gravy in the skillet, add the meatballs and continue to cook until the meatballs are heated through.
