EASY LAYERED TACO BAKE

by Rebecca September 4, 2021

Prep Time: 15 mins | Cook Time: 30 mins | Total Time: 45 mins | Servings: 6

I love this taco bake. It’s super easy to throw together with layers of tortillas, ground beef, and salsa con queso. If you are looking for a quick weeknight meal that guarantees your family will love it, you should give this simple recipe a try. Requires just six ingredients to whip up and ready in a blink. Also, I suggest not miss to top this with sour cream and diced tomatoes when serving for extra goodness!

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 packet taco seasoning

water as called for on the back of the seasoning packet (usually ¾ c. water)

3 (8”) flour tortillas

½ c. salsa con queso

1 ½-2 c. shredded Mexican cheese blend

HOW TO MAKE EASY LAYERED TACO BAKE

Step 1: Cook the beef until brown, breaking the meat up as it cooks. When done, drain the excess grease. Add the taco seasoning and water. Make sure to check the back of the seasoning packet for the ratio.

Step 2: Turn the heat off once the taco meat is ready, then add in half a cup of salsa con queso Stir until thoroughly incorporated.

Step 3: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F. And using a nonstick cooking spray, grease an 8-inch round baking pan.

Step 4: With flour tortilla, layer the bottom of the prepared pan. On the first layer, add about ⅓ of the ground beef taco filling, then ⅓ of the shredded cheese. Repeat with the remaining tortilla, taco filling, and cheese.

Step 5: Place in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 15 to 20 minutes until the cheese has melted and the edges are slightly golden brown. Remove from the oven when done and let the taco bake cool for a few minutes before slicing. Enjoy!

Note:

If desired, top the taco bake with sour cream and diced tomatoes.
