How to make Easy Homemade Lasagna
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F.
Step 2: Following the package directions, cook the pasta until al dente. When done, rinse the pasta under cold water and set it aside.
Step 3: Cook the beef and sausage with onion and garlic over medium-high heat until the meat is no longer pink. Drain the excess grease when done. Then, stir in the pasta sauce, tomato paste, and Italian seasoning. Let everything simmer for about 5 minutes.
Step 4: To make the cheese mixture, combine 1 ½ cups mozzarella with ¼ cup Parmesan cheese, ricotta, parsley, and egg until well blended.
Step 5: To a 9 x 13-inch pan, pour 1 cup of meat sauce. Lay 3 lasagna noodles and top with 1/3 of the cheese mixture, then 1 cup of the meat sauce. Do the same layers twice. Finish the layers with another 3 noodles and top with the rest of the sauce.
Step 6: Tent the lasagna with foil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for about 45 minutes. Remove the cover and sprinkle the lasagna with the rest of the cheeses (2 ½ cups mozzarella cheese and ¼ cup Parmesan). Continue to bake for another 15 minutes or until the cheese has browned and bubbly. If desired, broil for about 2 to 3 minutes.
Step 7: Take the lasagna out of the oven when done and let it rest for about 10 to 15 minutes. Slice and serve. Enjoy!
