How to make Easy Dinner Rolls
Step 1: Using a baking spray or oil, grease a 9 x 13-inch baking pan and set aside.
Step 2: Microwave the warm water, milk, with the butter pieces, sugar, salt mixture for a minute. Stir until melted and transfer to a standing mixer.
Step 3: Add in 3 1/2 cups flour and yeast, then mix with a paddle hook at medium speed. If needed, add more flour to make a soft dough but still a bit sticky.
Step 4: Replace with hook dough and mix for 6 to 8 minutes. Or turn the dough into a floured board if using your hands to mix and knead for approximately 6 to 8 minutes.
Step 5: Into 15 pieces, divide the dough and roll them into balls. I would suggest using a scale to measure the pieces of dough to get even balls.
Step 6: Into a 9 x 13-inch greased pan, transfer the dough.
Step 7: Using a clean cloth, cover and allow the dough to rise for about 20 minutes in a warm place until the size doubled.
Step 8: Then, place the rolls in a 350 degrees F preheated oven and bake for about 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
Step 9: Once done, take the rolls out of the oven and quickly brush with melted butter. Before serving, allow the rolls to cool for a bit. Enjoy!
Notes:
In these roles, you are welcome to add your favourite flavour. I like mine with honey or a sprinkle of herbs.
You can use a sturdy wooden spoon to mix the ingredients if a stand mixer is not available.
For the dough to rise quickly, place them in a warmer place (between 80-90 degrees F). You can place them inside a microwave (turned off) with a cup of steaming hot water on the side. Make sure to keep the door close so the heat won’t escape. Alternately, if working with bigger batches. Heat your oven to 150 degrees F, quickly turn it off, and sit your dough inside with the doors closed. For a rapid rise, add a package or 2 1/4 tsp yeast or 3 tsp so they rise faster.
For this recipe, you can substitute butter with oil or swap half of the flour with whole wheat.
