Casseroles have been my go-to for an easy and quick weeknight meal. They make great leftovers, too! Layers of noodles, ground beef, and creamy cheese, this easy-baked ziti casserole is another of my top favourites! If you know me well, you know that I can never say no to a flavour-packed casserole with tons of melty cheese!

I love simple recipes that I can easily throw together using only a handful of ingredients in no time. This casserole hits all the right spots! It is a must-try and a keeper. Make sure to give this a go very soon. I am pretty sure your family will love this as much as we do!

Ingredients

16 oz. mini ziti noodles

2 lbs ground beef round (at least 85% lean)

48 oz. spaghetti sauce

12 slices provolone cheese

1/2 c. chopped onion

2 c. sour cream

1/3 c. Parmesan cheese

8 oz. mozzarella cheese shredded

How to make Easy Baked Ziti Casserole

Step 1: Cook the ground beef and onion until brown. Drain the excess grease when done.

Step 2: To the ground beef and onion mix, add the spaghetti sauce and stir well.

Step 3: Following the package directions, cook the ziti noodles until done.

Step 4: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees. Using cooking spray, grease a 9 x 13-inch pan.

Step 5: Into the bottom of the prepared pan, spread half of the noodles. On top, layer the provolone cheese followed by the sour cream and the sauce.

Step 6: Over the sauce layer, add the remaining ziti and sprinkle with 6 ounces shredded mozzarella.

Step 7: Top the cheese with the rest of the sauce, then Parmesan cheese and the rest of the mozzarella.

Step 8: Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 35 minutes. Set the oven to “broil” for about 2 to 3 minutes if you want to brown the top of the casserole.
