How to make Easy Baked Meatballs
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 425 degrees F. Using parchment paper, line a large baking sheet and set it aside.
Step 2: Combine the ground meat, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, black pepper, salt, egg, cheese, and breadcrumbs in a large bowl. Gradually pour in the water, a couple of tbsp at a time, mixing by hand until just combined.
Step 3: Scoop about 1 tbsp of meat using an ice cream scoop or large spoon. Roll it into a ball with your palms. On the prepared baking sheet, place the ball and repeat with the rest of the meat mixture.
Step 4: Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for about 12 to 15 minutes or until cooked through.
Step 5: While the meatballs are baking, heat the oil in a medium-sized pan on medium-low heat. Once the oil is hot, add the garlic to the pan and saute for about 1 minute or until golden and fragrant.
Step 6: Add the crushed red pepper flakes to the pan (if using) followed by the crushed tomatoes, salt, sugar, and seasoning. Mix well and simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring often. To taste, season with salt and pepper.
Step 7: Add the meatballs to the sauce when done and toss to coat.
Step 8: Serve and enjoy!
