This custard pie is one of the most amazing Southern classics. Incredibly easy to throw together using only six ingredients. A great dessert that will tickle everyone’s taste buds. Make this custard pie in under fifty minutes and enjoy it chilled.

Silky, smooth, and insanely rich – this ridiculously delicious custard pie is among the top popular dessert that everyone is always asking for. A classic that has been around for ages. My favorite and go-to for entertaining. This custard pie never disappoints!

To make this custard pie, all you need a six ingredients. Ingredients that are easy to find and readily available. For the pie crust, you can either use store-bought or make it from scratch. I use evaporated milk or heavy cream because I want my pie filling to be even richer. Or you can swap it with regular milk if you prefer extra creamy and sweet pie filling.

Ingredients

6 large eggs, at room temperature

3 c. whole milk room temperature

2 tsp vanilla

1 c. sugar

1 unbaked pie crust

dash nutmeg

How to make Custard Pie

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F. Using a nonstick spray, lightly grease a 9½-inch pie pan.

Step 2: In the prepared pie pan, place the unbaked pie crust, pressing the dough against the sides of the pie pan.

Step 3: Whisk the sugar, eggs, nutmeg, and vanilla. Then, add the milk and beat it well until smooth. Pour this into the pie shell. On top, lightly sprinkle the nutmeg.

Step 4: Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 1 hour 15 minutes or until the pie is set.

Step 5: Remove from the oven when done and slice the pie. Serve and enjoy!

Notes:

For even cooking, use room-temperature eggs and milk.

The pie is done when the middle of the pie slightly jiggles when you gently shake the pie pan.

Chill the pie before slicing and serving.

Before baking, bring the eggs and milk to room temperature.
