This is one of my favourite desserts. Always a hit and the star of the show. Cuban Flan or Flan Cubano is one of the most ordered/requested desserts in any Cuban restaurant. Everyone is crazy over the custard texture of this dessert, and it satisfies your sweet tooth without being too sweet. Every bite is pure heaven! So rich, even a small piece is more than enough. This delicate dessert is so easy to prep using pantry staples. It has an intense flavour which is a deal-breaker for some, but if you have not tried this yet, you should because I promise you’ll love every inch!

How to make Cuban Flan Recipe (Flan Cubano)
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees.
Step 2: Add the sugar to the pan and start caramelizing over a hot stove, mixing until the sugar liquifies. With the sugar glaze, ensure to coat the bottom and sides of the pan.
Step 3: In a food processor, blend the milk and the remaining ingredients. Pour this into the flan pan with the caramelized sugar. Put the lid on or tent with foil. Depending on your oven, cook the flan for about 1 minute 25 seconds in a bain-marie or a water bath. When a toothpick inserted in the flan comes out clean, your flan is done.
Step 4: Place the flan in the fridge for at least 3 hours or so. Run a knife through the side of the pan once the flan has completely cooled. On top, put a dish, then flip over the pan to remove the flan.
Note:
For this recipe, you can use a pie dish or any rounded dish. You just have to make sure to cover the flan when baking in the water bath.
