How to make Crock Pot Brown Sugar Pineapple Ham
Step 1: In the bottom of an extra-large crockpot, pour half each of the brown sugar, crushed pineapple, and cinnamon. Stir well until blended. DO NOT USE FRESH PINEAPPLE, or the ham will be mushy!
Step 2: Top the pineapple mixture with the ham, gently separating the layers. Add the rest of the brown sugar and crushed pineapple. Sprinkle over the rest of the cinnamon.
Step 3: Put the lid on and seal. Set to cook for 3 to 4 hours on high. If using 6 pounds ham, the cooking time is 4 hours or 3.5 hours for a 10 pounds ham. The ham is done once the centre reached at least 110 degrees.
Step 4: Transfer the ham to a serving dish. In a pot, pour the rest of the juices and simmer on medium heat for about 20 minutes or until thick and glossy. Over the ham, pour the saucy glaze.
Step 5: Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
For this recipe, you can also use a large Instant Pot if a crockpot is unavailable:
Follow the above steps as is. Leave the Instant Pot ON venting. Set on high and the timer to 3 hours.
Switch the venting tab of the IP over to lock after 3 hours. Set on high heat and the timer to 20 minutes.
Do a natural release of pressure before removing the lid. Then, transfer the ham to a serving dish.
Set the IP to simmer for 20 minutes until the sauce has thickened. Before serving, pour the sauce over the ham.
Large Roasting Pan:
Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 300 degrees F. In a large roasting pan, place all the ingredients. Tightly cover using tinfoil.
Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 2 hours or until the internal temperature of the ham reached 110 degrees F.
Transfer the ham to a serving platter.
Pour the remaining sauce into a saucepan and simmer on medium heat for about 20 minutes until reduced and glossy. Before serving, pour the sauce over the ham.
