CRESCENT CHEESE DANISHES!

by Rebecca October 13, 2021

I always have a stash of crescent rolls tubes, and it’s amazing how you can use it on so many things! Like these cheese danishes that are surprisingly easy to whip up. It’s a super simple recipe for keeps.

INGREDIENTS

2 TABLESPOONS BUTTER (FULLY MELTED)

2 CRESCENT ROLL TUBES

1- 8 OUNCES PACKAGE OF PHILLY CREAM CHEESE (SOFTENED)

1/2 C. OF REGULAR WHITE SUGAR

1/4 C. OF LIGHT BROWN SUGAR

1 TSP PURE VANILLA EXTRACT

1 TEASPOON LEMON JUICE

GLAZE:

1 TSP PURE VANILLA EXTRACT

4 TSP OF MILK

1/2 C. POWDERED SUGAR

HOW TO MAKE CRESCENT CHEESE DANISHES

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F.

Step 2: Place the softened cream cheese, lemon juice, pure vanilla extract, and white sugar in a medium bowl. Beat using a mixer until everything is well mixed, then set aside.

Step 3: Open but do not unroll the crescent roll tubes. Instead, cut through the roll tubes using a sharp knife, making thick slices.

Step 4: On a parchment-lined cookie sheet, lay each slice. To hold the filling, create a small wall around the edge using your fingers or a small measuring cup.

Step 5: Add 1/4 cup of light brown sugar to the melted butter and mix using a brush. Over each danish, brush the mixture.

Step 6: Into each danish, dollop even quantity of the filling.

Step 7: Place the cookie sheet in the preheated oven and bake the danishes for about 16 to 18 minutes or until slightly golden brown. Remove from the oven when done and allow the danishes to cool before glazing.

TO MAKE THE GLAZE:

Step 8: Meanwhile, whisk the pure vanilla extract, milk, and powdered sugar in a small bowl until smooth. Drizzle this over the warm danishes and top each with cherry, blueberry, or strawberry filling.

Step 9: Serve and enjoy!
