CREAMY ITALIAN SAUSAGE AND TOMATO PASTA

This delicious dish is what you just might need today! Oh, man, you have got to give this recipe a try, I’m telling you! You are more than welcome to tweak the recipe to your liking. I am sure that you can do a lot to make this very simple dish even better! Have a beautiful day, friends. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

1 pound box of penne or other pasta (454g)

1 tbsp butter (.5ounces, 14g)

2 tbsp olive oil

1 medium onion, chopped

1 red bell pepper, chopped

1 pound Italian sausage (454g)

5 cloves of garlic, minced

¾ c sundried tomatoes, chopped (100g)

15ounces can chopped tomatoes (425g)

1 chicken bouillon cube

½ c water

1 c heavy cream

½ c parmesan cheese (1.5ounces, 43g)

a large handful of baby spinach (about 2.3ounces, 65g), chopped or not

a handful of fresh basil leaves (about 1.5ounces, 43g), chopped

salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

For the pasta:

Place a large pot on the stove and turn the heat to high. Allow the water to boil.

Add the pasta and cook until al dente.

Drain the pasta and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.

Place the drained pasta into a mixing bowl, then add butter. Toss until well coated.

For the Sauce:

Place a pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.

Add olive oil and allow it to become hot.

Add the red pepper and sliced onion. Sauté for 1 minute or until translucent.

Add the sausage and cook until greasy and brown.

Add the garlic and sun-dried tomato. Sauté until aromatic.

Add the chopped tomatoes, 1/2 cup of water, and bouillon cube. Stir until well mixed and cook until done.

Add the cream and stir until well mixed. Simmer for 2 minutes.

Add the Parmesan cheese and stir until melted completely.

Remove the pan from the heat.

Add the spinach and allow it to wilt completely.

Add the minced basil, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.

Add the pasta and toss until well coated with the sauce.

Serve hot and enjoy!
