Ingredients

8 oz medium pasta shells

1 tbsp olive oil

1 lb ground beef

1 small sweet onion (diced)

5 cloves garlic (minced)

1 tsp Italian seasoning

1 tsp dried parsley

1/2 tsp dried oregano

1/2 tsp smoked paprika

2 tbsp all-purpose flour

1 c beef stock

1 (15 ounces can) marinara sauce

3/4 c heavy cream

1/4 c sour cream

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

1 1/2 c cheddar cheese (freshly grated)

How to make Creamy Beef And Shells

Step 1: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the pasta following the package directions. Drain well.

Step 2: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the ground beef. Cook for about 3 to 5 minutes, breaking into pieces using a wooden spoon or until brown. Drain any excess grease and set aside.

Step 3: Add the diced onion to the same skillet and saute for about 2 minutes. Add in the garlic and cook for a minute more until aromatic.

Step 4: Add the four and whisk for a minute until a bit browned.

Step 5: Slowly pour in the beef stock, stirring to incorporate, then the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, dried parsley, oregano, and paprika. Stir well.

Step 6: Bring the mixture to a boil. Decrease the heat and simmer for about 6 to 8 minutes, stirring often, until the liquid has reduced and slightly thickened.

Step 7: Whisk in the heavy cream and cook for another minute or two or until heated through. Adjust the taste according to taste.

Step 8: Then, stir in the sour cream followed by the cheddar cheese. Cook for another 1 to 2 minutes until the cheese has melted.

Step 9: Once done, garnish with parsley and serve quickly.
