If you have not tried the ever-famous country-style steak at K&W Cafeteria-style restaurants, this dish will bring you closer to it without leaving your home. Taste exactly like the real thing, if not better!
This recipe is pretty straightforward to throw together using just simple ingredients. I have not gone to K&W for a very long time, and I missed their steak so much. Thank goodness for this recipe I can bring K&W closer to home. This Country Style Steak is so impressive and perfect with hot cooked rice or mashed potatoes. If desired, serve this with your fave veggies, too. Either way, this scrumptious steak is one filling dish on its own!

Ingredients
1 pound cube steaks
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 cup vegetable or canola oil
2 can(s) (14.5 ounces) beef broth
How to make Country Style Steak
Step 1: In a shallow dish, place the flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well until incorporated.
Step 2: In the flour mixture, dredge the cube steaks, evenly coating every piece. Set the remaining 1/4 cup aside.
Step 3: In the hot oil, cook the cubes over medium-high heat for about 4 minutes per side until brown. When done, transfer the steaks to a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
Step 4: To the pan drippings, add the reserved flour mixture, whisking to make a flour paste. If needed, you can add more oil or flour. Into the pan, pour the broth and whisk until smooth and the gravy has thickened. Pour this over the meat.
Step 5: Tent the pan with foil and place it in a 350 degrees preheated oven. Bake for about 2 hours. When done, remove from the oven and serve immediately with hot cooked rice or mashed potatoes. Enjoy!
