Corn on the Cob in the Oven

I bet my life to this Corn on the Cob in the Oven recipe. It’s a life-altering recipe to keep! Prep this in less than ten minutes and pop in the oven to bake in less than an hour. This has been a staple during bbq, picnics, even family outings. My fave and go-to summer recipe for life!

For this recipe, what you need are only four ingredients including the ears of corn. Ingredients that you already have; unsalted butter, kosher salt, and fresh ground black pepper. The cayenne pepper is optional but highly recommended. See the note section on how to go about adding cayenne to this recipe.

Be a little creative and try making compound butter with different flavours. I do always and it adds so much to this already amazing corn on the cob. A very helpful tip is to be sure to use unsalted butter because you would not want extra salt to the seasonings.

INGREDIENTS

8 ears corn, cleaned

1 stick (8 tbsp) unsalted butter, room temperature

kosher salt, to taste

fresh ground black pepper, to taste

How to make Corn on the Cob in the Oven

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 400 degrees F. And using aluminium foil, line a baking sheet.

Step 2: On the prepared baking sheet, place the corn. Make sure to keep about half of the butter aside and spread the rest all over the corn. Then, generously sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 30 to 45 minutes until the cob is beginning to brown, turning the corn often.

Step 3: When done, take the corn out of the oven and spread the rest of the butter on top. If desired, sprinkle with extra pepper. Enjoy!

NOTE:

You can add a dash of cayenne pepper to the corn if desired. Simply put 4 tbsp butter in a small dish, add the cayenne pepper, then mix. On the corn, smear the butter, then continue with the recipe.
