2 tsp coarse kosher salt, (adjust depends on your taste)
2 tsp brown sugar
1/4 tsp cornstarch
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp garlic salt
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp black pepper
How to make Copycat Texas Roadhouse Steak Rub
Step 1: In a quart-sized Ziploc, combine the salt, brown sugar, cornstarch, garlic powder, garlic salt, onion powder, turmeric, paprika, chilli powder, and black pepper. Tightly seal and shake to completely combine.
Step 2: Rub the steak with the seasoning and allow to rest for at least 40 minutes to let the salt absorb through the surface and helps break down the muscle fibres of the steak. This will result in more tender meat and juicer meat.
Step 3: Place the steaks on a hot grill. Cook for about 4 to 5 minutes or until browned and a bit charred. Turn the steak over and cook depending on your preference: 5 minutes for Medium Rare, 7 minutes for Medium, or 10 minutes for Well Done.
Notes:
You can use Porterhouse, N.Y. Strip and Ribeye steaks. These are the best options for grilling in my opinion.
